How Are Divisions
Determined?
The
American Agility Challenge will offer Cash
Awards and Prizes to all
First,
Second and
Third
Place Winners in each division. That’s up to 9 Cash Awards in each
height Class!
Each class size (8”,12”,16”,20”, and 24”) will compete for placements set
be the fastest dog in each height class. The divisions are split by adding
time (in this case seconds) to the fastest dog’s time in each class.
1st Division - Fastest time in the
class and those who place in this division.
2nd Division - Fastest time in
the class plus up to 8 seconds off the fastest time.
3rd Division - Fastest time in
the class plus up to 16 seconds off the fastest time.

For
Example (see chart below that represents a typical 12 “height class)
in a 12” class challenge, the fastest dog set the time at 42.35 seconds.
Therefore, the First Division
started at 42.35 seconds and those dogs whose time fell in this division.
The Second Division started 5
seconds after the fastest time at 47.35 seconds and any those dogs whose
time fell in this division.
The Third Division started by
adding 10 seconds after the fastest time at 52.35 and those dogs whose
time fell in the division.

Challenge competitors will compete in divisional
formats. Divisions may be added or deleted contingent on number of
entries for each class.

Challenge competitors who compete will have three (3)
divisions (contingent on number of entered dogs in a particular height
class). A division will added based on the chart above for each height
class, including 8,12,16,20 and 24 inch dogs

Divisions are determined by time brackets and faults,
not by order of finish in each size class.
